After building a nice lead going into halftime, UMass came out complacent in the second frame. In the end, it was Anthony Gurley who hit a 3-pointer with 55 seconds left to give UMass the lead. However, Deontay Twyman answered with a 3-pointer of his own with 12 ticks left.
After UMass was given possession with one second left, they inbounded from under the basket at the Quinnipiac end. Again Gurley received the ball. His lay-up was blocked, but a goaltending violation was called as the horn sounded to give UMass the two-point win.
How often do you see that to end a game?
Lastly, a big congrats to Javorn Farrell who netted a career-high 25 points.
UMass is now 7-0 heading into a battle in Boston against the BC Eagles.
